The Snouticus National Training Center will be a Game Changer for Steadfast Service Dogs. image
Since the inception of Steadfast Service Dogs in February of 2020, our dream has been to grow this organization and have a true training center site where we can eventually house handlers during their training engagements, conduct comprehensive training scenarios and scent imprinting/scent detection, facilitate a volunteer program, and to allow for peer training and peer events to help support our handlers.
We are very excited to announce that Phase 1 of the Steadfast Service Dogs' Snouticus National Training Center outside of Birmingham, Alabama will be complete by Autumn 2026. The following image is an artist rendering designed by one of our service dog handlers, Rebecca K, and we are not quite this far along. We do have concrete down inside our 3000 sq ft building, as well as electrical, plumbing and drainage. Phase 1 will include the facility remodeling and finishes that will allow us to work with our handlers onsite.

With all phases, this will ultimately be approximately a year-long project with various additions to the initial training center design: whelping suite with kitchenette/bed/bath, wash and grooming station, peer support circle, training area, accessible nature path, etc. Several of these features will be dedicated in honor of handlers who have passed or handlers who have inspired us. These phases will be completed one by one over time, and we will include volunteer help and donated products in these phases.

This fundraiser is setup with Impact Statements to allow donors to select a particular aspect of the training center with which they prefer to help. Certainly, custom donation amounts are accepted and appreciated. All donations $500 and over will be honored with engraved tiles in the reception area. Gifts of $1000 or more will be honored with plaques.
If you feel called to help, we would appreciate it very much. If you have friends and family who would like to help, please share the fundraiser link.
This is a game-changer for Steadfast Service Dogs and for our service dog handlers!
